Ways to help
An amateur company has two sources of income: what members pay to be in it, and what an audience pays at the door. Neither covers a full-scale musical on its own. Everything below helps, and the first one costs you nothing at all.
Willenhall Musical Theatre Company is a members’ association, not a registered charity, so we cannot offer Gift Aid. Every penny goes into the same account the shows are paid for from.
easyfundraising
Raise money for us while you shop
WMTC is registered with easyfundraising. When you start your online shopping there and go on to buy something, the retailer pays a commission and it comes to the company. The retailer pays it, not you, and what you pay for your shopping is unchanged.
It costs nothing but the habit of checking easyfundraising first. Insurance renewals, a supermarket delivery, a birthday present, a holiday: the ordinary spending everybody does anyway is the point of it, and it adds up faster than you would think.
- Scan the code, or follow the link. Both open our page with Willenhall Musical Theatre Company already chosen as the cause, so there is nothing to search for.
- Sign up once, with an email address. It is free, and it is not a subscription.
- Then shop as you always would, but start at easyfundraising. Find the retailer there, click through, and buy as normal.
Anyone can do this, whether or not they have ever set foot in one of our shows, and there is no limit on how many people raise for us. Somebody who does their weekly shop online is worth more to the company over a year than most one-off gifts.
Print it for a noticeboard, or put it in a programme. Anyone may use it.
Come, and bring somebody
It is the plainest answer and it is still the best one. A full house is what makes the next show possible, and the difference between a good week and a difficult one is usually a few dozen seats.
If you have enjoyed a show, the most useful thing you can do afterwards costs nothing: tell somebody, and say the name. Amateur theatre lives on people who came because a friend insisted.
Join us, on stage or off it
A show needs far more people than the ones the audience sees. Wardrobe, set, props, front of house, sound, the box office: all of it is done by members, and none of it requires you to sing.
Membership off stage is £25 for non-acting members, and that is the whole of what it costs.
Advertise with us
Every show has a printed programme, and every member of the audience takes one home. It is read before the curtain, in the interval, and again afterwards, which is more attention than most local advertising gets. Other societies have taken space in ours for years.

On this website
We carry advertising here as well, seen by everybody who looks us up between shows rather than only during a run. There is no published rate for it. Website advertising is priced on enquiry, so tell us what you have in mind and we will quote you.
For either, or to ask what the deadline is for the next programme, message the company on Facebook. Artwork can be supplied as a PDF or an image, and we will tell you the size it needs to be.
Giving directly
Some people would rather simply help, and we are very glad of it. Donations go into the company account alongside subscriptions and box office income, and are spent on the same things: the rights to perform a show, the hire of a theatre, sets, costumes and the band.
There is no donate button on this page yet. The company is working out the right way to take one, and in the meantime the honest thing is to ask you to get in touch rather than to publish account details on a page anyone can copy. Message us on Facebook and a member of the committee will sort it out with you.
A note on what we are: the company is an unincorporated members’ association governed by its own constitution, not a registered charity or a limited company.
